Our vision at Serve Liberia is to build a local college to teach Biblical life applications and where agriculture can be taught and passed along to young men.
Our purpose is to provide them and future generations the means to be self-supporting through the teaching and training.
We are working with a local pastor — Pastor Sallee and his wife Kolu — who are overseeing the construction and the operation of the school once completed.
From bare land to a college by 2026.
Our goal is to build the school by the summer of 2026 and have Pastor Sallee and his family move in soon after — a record of how it came to be, from the first sit-down with the town elders to the work underway today.
A College for Bible & Agriculture
Our vision is to build a local college to teach Biblical life applications and where agriculture can be taught and passed along to young men — giving them and future generations the means to be self-supporting through the teaching and training.
Elders, Chiefs & the Paramount Chief
Serve Liberia met with all the town elders and chiefs of Kolliemai to ask if they would sell land. Even the Paramount chief was there, since Kolliemai is the central town for about 100 towns and villages surrounding it.
Land Acquired in Kolliemai
Serve Liberia acquired bare land from the town of Kolliemai in Lofa County for building a school and living quarters — about 3 miles from the Voinjama airport, roughly a 7–8 hour drive from the capital, Monrovia.
Three Gifts Instead of Cash
The town people requested that, instead of paying money, we help Kolliemai with three things: $5,000 to survey their town land (held in savings until they are ready), $9,000 to work with a local company to supply solar electricity, and $4,500 to build a 1.5-mile road to the river.
1.5-Mile Road to the River
So far the road has been completed and an official meeting has taken place to turn it back over to the town, so they can transport sand from the river for their projects and sell sand to others for building projects.
Construction Underway
Approximately $75,000 has been spent so far on the college. Total cost is estimated at around $300,000 until it is self-sustaining — a process expected to take 4–5 years after Pastor Sallee moves there.

The plan is to open with a 6-month class for 8–12 men, with students bringing rice from their own farms in exchange for tuition and working evenings in on-site vegetable gardens that grow the food for their meals.

Where tuition is harvested, not paid.
Term lengths will be 6 months, with students bringing rice from their own farms in exchange for tuition fees. Initially we plan to start with a 6-month class for 8–12 men, with the goal of finding qualified men to assist with teaching in the future.
We plan to grow all of the vegetables for their meals on the property, and students work in the evenings to maintain the gardens. As we work with these men, the vision is that by the end of each class we find 1 or 2 to continue on — going back into their home villages to guide, teach, and start churches, supported by those churches rather than by us.
Serve Liberia plans to pay Pastor Sallee $450 per month for the first couple of years, with hopes to phase out the monthly pay so that in 4–5 years from the time they move in, the school can be self-sustaining.
Beyond the college.
Guest House
A guest house that NGOs could pay to stay in — also used by the overseas field director whenever he visits from the States. Another step toward the self-sustainability of this work.
Academic School
A big need in this community. Children would pay school fees, and Mother Kolu Sallee — a teacher of about 15 years — would help lead it. Townspeople plan to make blocks from dirt and construct it themselves; roofing, lumber for doors, desks and chalkboards are needed (~$10K).
Health Clinic
A big need in this community. Pastor Sallee would love to see this need met in the future by helping to build one.

Full campus construction through self-sustainability. Approximately $75,000 spent to date of ~$300,000 total.
